Neurofeedback Service Plans and Costs
There are two ways we deliver neurofeedback services:
A.Fee for Service Plan: You can pay for your sessions (usually in increments of 5) at a time prior to your appointment. We will give you a statement that contains all the information necessary for your insurance carrier to reimburse you, if such reimbursement is available to you.
B.Comprehensive Package Plans: You can pay one fixed amount to cover all the services involved. This amount will cover all necessary steps in the assessment as well as very intensive neurofeedback training services. See Packages Below

Funding your neurofeedback training:
Health insurance: You may be eligible for insurance reimbursement for the assessment and neurofeedback training services we provide. Please check with your insurance carrier to determine if you are eligible for reimbursement.

Medical or health savings plan: You may be able to pay for your neurofeedback training through your Medical Savings Account (MSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA). These are programs which may be available through your employer, or which you can set up yourself (HSA) if you are self-employed. Funds are deposited into a special account before taxes. You can then withdraw from this account to pay for eligible medical services with before-tax dollars. You may be able to elect either the Fee for Service Plan or the Comprehensive Package Plan, depending on the specifics of your HSA or MSA.

Home equity line of credit: Many families have elected to pay for services by making use of their home equity line of credit. This also is a tax advantaged method to fund your neurofeedback training; please check with your accountant for details on these tax savings.

Fee for Service Plan
.Mini-Q (mini-quantitative EEG): This is an EEG recording with the interpretation of the EEG, and the quantitative analysis of the digital EEG using the normative database.
.Performance testing for neurofeedback (QIKtest / TOVA): This is the administration and scoring of our questionnaire, and measures variables of functioning and computerized testing of attention, impulsivity, hyperactivity, and working memory. Follow-up assessment using the QIKtest will be repeated after 20 neurofeedback sessions and is charged additionally.
.Neurofeedback training session: This is category covers one in the office session of neurofeedback training assisted by one of our technicians, consultation with trainees and parents as needed, and examination of training outcome checklists.

Comprehensive Neurofeedback Package Plans
Our neurofeedback package plans cover all the services involved in our neurofeedback training program, including:
.Initial interview to assess brain function based on behavior, learning, and emotions
.A mini quantitative EEG study (Mini-Q) of brain function
.Review and interpretation of the mini-q
.Computerized testing of attention, impulsivity, hyperactivity, and working memory
.Neurofeedback planning conference and interview with Dr. Michael Schmidt
.Twice weekly office based neurofeedback training
.Progress checklists completed weekly
.Repeat testing computerized testing of attention every 20 sessions of training. (We do not repeat the Mini-Q)
.Conferences with Dr. Michael Schmidt as needed
.Training review conferences with Dr. Michael Schmidt approximately every 20 sessions

Available package plans:
Although many individuals have made very significant progress in 20 in-office neurofeedback training sessions, a longer course of training is often necessary to attain all of your goals and to be certain that the gains will last once training ends. For this reason, and to simplify payment for those who do not have insurance coverage, we offer comprehensive package options with different lengths of training. (These plans represent a significant discount compared to the fee for service plan.)
.Three month (12 wk) package offers a 21% discount compared to fee for service costs.
.Six month (24 wk) package offers a 31% discount compared to Fee for Service costs.
Family discounts: In many families, there are multiple members who may benefit from neurofeedback training. In order to make this affordable, we offer a 20% discount on the original cost of the package plan for each additional family member who is training. This family discount is only available with the package plans.

Financing options:
For those who would like to take advantage of our package savings but require some type of timed payments, our office can offer you an optional payment program. Our payment program consists of 5 payments: 1 initial deposit, with 4 equal payments.

Overall, we would like to invite you to explore the possibilities of funding your plan using the many options available through our Package Payment Program (PPP), Medical Savings Accounts (MSA) or Health Savings Accounts (HAS). Please note: We do not refund fees paid for discount package plans.

Disclaimer: Insurance & Payment Information
The Neurofeedback Wellness Center does not serve as a participating provider for most insurance companies. We require that you pay all fees at the time of service. You may be able to obtain reimbursement for your payments from your insurance carrier, although we do not guarantee such reimbursement. We will provide you with a statement to submit to your carrier. Unfortunately, not all health insurers cover neurofeedback. The only way to know if your carrier will cover is to contact them directly and inquire. Please be sure to confirm coverage from them yourself. However, please remember that we do not guarantee insurance reimbursement.
